RugbyX will see the introduction of rugby’s version of the’Super Over’, with attracted games decided by a contest that is revolutionary.
In the event of a draw, a attacker score past a single defender from the other and from 1 team will try.
The’one-on-one’ has been included as a member of RugbyX’s laws, which have been verified by World Rugby.
October, the latest version of rugby launches at the 02 Arena on 29.
England, Ireland and the Barbarians are among the teams involved at the debut tournament, which involves both women and men’s teams.
Dubbed’Rugby’s Twenty20′,” RugbyX is a variant of the sport, is full contact and performed a half-sized pitch.
Halves will be 10 minutes each, without a break between.
Kicking is enabled, but kicks shouldn’t exceed 10 metres in height, with the distance monitored by chunk monitoring technologies.
One of the other confirmed legislation:
“The RugbyX laws are developed with the aim of supporting simple, rapid and skilful gameplay using minimal stoppages, whilst keeping the core principles of the game we love,” said RugbyX Technical Director Ben Ryan.
Co-host of the Rugby Union Weekly podcast, former England winger Ugo Monye, believes the’one on one’ is really a radical and spectacular way of picking out a match.
The participant will start 30 metres in the line, while the shield begins outside 5 metres , using a 10 minute time limit.
“As a guardian it is a nightmare, but as a attacker the pressure is on you to dent,” he said. “I’d like to see someone such as [Springbok wing] Cheslin Kolbe doing this.
“For me personally, RugbyX is an extremely simplified and condensed version which cherry-picks the finest pieces of what is.”
