Nationals vs. Pirates MLB Pick – August 19th

The Pittsburgh Pirates are back at PNC Park after Engaging in the Little League Classic from the Chicago Cubs in Bowman Field last night.

They took it on the brow with a 7-1 loss to the Cubs. Their only run came by Sterling Marte. It was the very first pitch Kimbrel threw from the game.
Pedro Strop was called on for mop-up duty, and while he loaded the bases and gave the Pirates a little glimmer of hope, Strop obtained Melky Cabrera heading to get a 3rd attack to finish the match. It’s a huge win for the Cubs, as they go to a tie with the Cardinals to get 1st in the NL Central.
Nothing has changed in the past month. In the feeling that no one has been able to pull away and get comfy. It is probably going to remain to be a trip that is near until the season’s last day. Where they play their best ball, the Cubs return home.
For the Nationalsthey are well behind in their divisional battle, but with more than a month left to play with in the regular time, it would not be an impossible task to catch the Braves. They are only going to have to become sexy and hope the Braves stumble. When the Nationals miss out on the NL East, they’re a good opportunity they visit the Wild Card Game, though.
In case the postseason started today, then the Nationals will be hosting the NL Wild Card Game against the Chicago Cubs. Together with the battles the Cubs have had on the street, the Nationals would probably be the favorites in this one. However, it would be easy to see a good deal of Cubs money come in.
The Phillies, Brewers, and Mets are all two matches out of a wildcard. Joe Ross has been coming on recently and will look to keep hot tonight in Pittsburgh. The Pirates are expected to counter Ross using Trevor Williams. Head below for our free Nationals vs. Pirates pick.

The Nationals have been quite ecstatic with the level of production which they’ve been getting from Joe Ross recently. After a sluggish start to this season, Ross was on fire recently. In fact, it has been one of the greatest moves for him in his entire career.
In his past three outings, which go across 18 innings of work, Ross has enabled only 1-run for the ERA of 0.50 and 1.00 WHIP. It’s not like he has just been getting lucky. Ross has been able to limit baserunners as well.
Overall this year, Ross has actually been fairly capable on the road. He hasn’t liked pitching in Washington, however, and that’s skewed his numbers up. Ross has recently posted an ERA of 9.00 and 2.24 WHIP at home, while looking sharp as a seeing hurler.
He enters Pittsburgh with a 3.86 ERA and 1.25 WHIP at 25.2 innings flying on the road. Ross should expect some solid run support from his offense in this one. They have been on fire recently and seem to hammer a struggling Trevor Williams on Monday night.
The Nats head to this one with 31 runs scored in their past two matches. They had 13 runs up on the plank from the end of the 3rd inning yesterday afternoon. There were three hitters with 3 RBI’s, Brian Dozier having the latest violin together with 4 RBI’s in the win.
Williams heads into this one with an ERA of 7.88 and 1.88 WHIP in his past three outings. He’s yielded 11 earned runs in his last 10 innings pitched. Furthermore, Williams has neglected to have control at home. He has struggled with a 6.11 ERA along with also 1.47 WHIP at PNC Park. Following a difficult series against the Cubs, anticipate the same for the Pirates against the Nationals to Start the week.
