Philippines Included In The Top 20 Emerging Markets

The Philippines makes it to number 20 in Bloomberg’s list of emerging markets citing the following data:

Philippines

GDP growth, 2013 to 2017: 20.4%
Inflation rate: 4.1%
Government debt as % of GDP: 36.8
Ease of doing business, rank: 138
Total score: 38.1

The data comes from Bloomberg’s financial-market statistics, IMF forecasts and the World Bank. The countries were also rated on areas of particular interest to foreign investors: the ease of doing business, the perceived level of corruption and economic freedom. Asian nations dominated the top of the list, followed by Latin America. Surprisingly, off-the-beaten-path destinations in Africa also had a strong showing, even outscoring some members of the European Union.

Bloomberg has reported the Philippines may very well be among the world’s top 10 fastest-growing economies amid robust consumer spending.

The top 20 emerging markets were graded according to the ease of doing business, perceived level of corruption, and economic freedom, Bloomberg said.

Asian countries topped the list, followed by those from Latin America and Africa.

  3. It really is a good for us to be on the list of top emerging markets but It’s much more better if people in the Philippines could also feel the raise in our economy.
Although on a latest survey conducted that there are now less Filipinos who can’t eat for 3 times daily, still, most says that it seems like there’s no changes at all.
