How much will Manny Pacquiao be worth by 2013

Just a few years ago, we published an article on the accumulated wealth of this Filipino boxer making continuous championship headlines.  Back then, he was only worth 1 Billion pesos as of 2008!  There were quite a few more fights after that, with bigger purses.

Let’s recap:

Boxing Purse 2008 and before:

It is in pro boxing where Pacquiao’s earnings are somehow measurable. Win or lose, a boxer is guaranteed to receive the purse stipulated in his contract. His contract with American promoter Bob Arum reportedly guarantees him a minimum of $2 million for every fight.

In the two years spanning 2006-2008, Pacquiao has earned $21 million from the following fights:

$2 million—against Erik Morales (January 2006)
$1 million—against Oscar Larios (July 2006)
$3 million—against Erik Morales (November 2006)
$2 million—against Jorge Solis (April 2007)
$2 million—against Marco Antonio Barrera (October 2007)
$11 Mill – against Dela Hoya (December 2008)

This $21M was equal to 1 Billion Philippine pesos at an exchange rate of 49:1$!!

Career tally 2008 and beyond:120+21

$12 million – against Ricky Hatton (May 2009)
$14 million – against Miguel Cotto (November 2009)
$12 million – against Joshua Clottey (March 13, 2010)
$25 million – against Antonio Margarito (November 2010)
$15 million – against Shane Mosley (May 2011)
$20 million – against Juan Manuel Marquez (November 2011)
$20 million – against Timothy Bradley (June 2012)
$9 million – against Juan Manuel Marquez Part 4 (December 2012, amount not final yet, based on estimates)

SPENT: Pacquiao spent a reported $7 million for the campaign for the post of congressman.

-thus for the years 2009 to present all the way to his upcoming Pacquiao Marquez 4 fight this December 8, Manny Pacquiao netted $120 Million dollars more!  That’s 4.9 billion pesos at the rate of $1:P41 !

-If you add all of his career fights’ purse since 2006 to 2012, that would be a total of $141 Million dollars!  At an exchange rate of 41 would give us 5.7 Billion pesos!

*We had to edit the revised estimates for the Pacquiao Marquez 4 fight downwards because apparently, for these two to fight again for the fourth time is just too much for fans.

Congratulations Congressman Money Pacquiao!

* This still gives room for a future Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, which might net him $80m more!
