After almost successfully restoring your iOs device like your Ipad, Iphone, or Itouch in versions 4.3, 4.3.3, or 4.3.2, some users are complaining of being stuck in a black screen DFU mode where you can’t see the springboard, can’t see the slide button to power on or off the Ipad or other device.
This is sometimes known as the recovery loop, or your iOs device is really in invisible DFU, but no way for you to access it.
Tools you can use to fix recovery loop:
You can choose to use only one of the above when stuck in the black screen , personally, I used TinyUmbrella 4.33.
At this point, it is important to go into your hosts file and edit it using notepad over at
(if you don’t know how to navigate to the hosts file, or don’t know how to edit it using a simple notepad program, don’t proceed, and have your iPad serviced by an expert)
erase anything that looks like this
it could be any number preceding gs.apple.com, but you must erase the whole line. If there are two or more lines containing xxxxxxxxxxxx gs.apple.com , erase them all! save notepad, and exit.
Now go back to Tiny Umbrella. The “Fix recovery” button in TinyUmbrella requires you to go to normal dfu mode first. Hold home+power for 10 secs, let go of power but keep holding home for 10 more seconds. Screen should be black. Click “Fix recovery” in TU.
You can now go to iTunes to restore your iPad and your screen will return again.
