A half percent wall street rise is propelled by US first-time jobless claims increase of 17,000 to a seasonally adjusted 474,000 in December 5 compared to median forecast of 450,000. Good economic data likewise fuel the spillover to Asia.

Locally, FGEN announces that its rights offering price will be based on 34the weighted average of FGEN's trade from Dec 8 to Dec 14 2009.  NIhao discloses that additional listing for its rights shares has been moved to December 15, 2009.[edited]

About half of the index stocks registered gains, led by MER's sustained tick to 209.  Other gainers include ALI BPI MBT TEL AC.  Index losers were limited to : LC/B MWC FGEN MWC HLCM.

Top most active was SM's 500M peso cross, which was about 1/4 the value of total traded amount for the PSEi.  

Overall top gainers were AB/B MRAY, RLT VLL T.

Top losers were JOH 2.30, FGEN PEP LCB PERC PA
