Imagine, if you will, Juan de la Cruz rocking out “Balong Malalim” and “ Himig natin” with violins and cellos, the Jerks jamming with trumpets and flutes, or the Dawn performing their signature songs accompanied by a clarinet solo.

All of these will be realized at 8 pm of May 2,3 and 4 when they and other bands perform with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra at the mecca of performing arts, the CCP Main Theater.

Aptly titled: FIESTA NG MUSIKANG FILIPINO: AN OPM CHRONICLE and presented by Greative Dynamic Marketing, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, PAGCOR and PCSO, this event promises to be a treat to OPM fans as it brings together bands in a merger of musical styles, all in celebration of original Filipino music.

Radioactive Sago Project, Sugarfree, Updharmadown, Sinosikat  and young American violinist Lucia Micarelli complete the roster of performers.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) John Mary Vianney Gallilee Development and Retreat Center for Priests in Tagaytay City.

Tickets are available at Ticketworld, Music One and selected Odyssey outlets.
